Hazard Estimation under Generalized Censoring
This paper focuses on the problem of the estimation of the cumulative hazard function of a distribution on a general complete separable metric space when the data points are subject to censoring by an arbitrary adapted random set. A problem involving observability of the estimator proposed in [8] and [9] is resolved and a functional central limit theorem is proven for the revised estimator. Sev...
متن کاملModel selection for hazard rate estimation in presence of censoring
Abstract This note presents an estimator of the hazard rate function based on right censored data. A collection of estimators is built from a regression-type contrast, in a general collection of linear models. Then, a penalised model selection procedure provides an estimator which satisfies an oracle inequality. In particular, we can prove that it is adaptive in the minimax sense on Hölder spaces.
متن کاملAdaptive estimation of the hazard rate with multiplicative censoring
We propose an adaptive estimation procedure of the hazard rate of a random variable X in the multiplicative censoring model, Y = XU , with U ∼ U([0, 1]) independent of X. The variable X is not directly observed: an estimator is built from a sample {Y1, ..., Yn} of copies of Y . It is obtained by minimisation of a contrast function over a class of general nested function spaces which can be gene...
متن کاملHazard estimation from right censored data with missing censoring indicators
The kernel smoothed Nelson–Aalen estimator has been well investigated, but is unsuitable when some of the censoring indicators are missing. A representation introduced by Dikta, however, facilitates hazard estimation when there are missing censoring indicators. In this article, we investigate (i) a kernel smoothed semiparametric hazard estimator and (ii) a kernel smoothed “pre-smoothed” Nelson ...
متن کاملSome Properties of Bivariate Empirical Hazard Processes under Random Censoring
In Campbell (1982) and Campbell & FOldes (1982) some asymptotic properties of bivariate empirical hazard processes under random censoring are given. Taking the representation of the empirical hazard process for bivariate randomly censored samples in Campbell (1982) as a starting point and restricting attention to strong properties, we obtain a speed of strong convergence for the weighted bivari...
